Un tour de magie pour introduire la représentation binaire des nombres

Abstract : Computers handle informations represented with 0s and 1s. This so-called binary information allows them to represent numbers and to make computations. In this paper, we propose an activity aiming at the exploration of the binary representation of numbers, for children in early middle school. We present a feedback of our experimentation in middle school. We also give extension activities (conversion and arithmetic operations).
